PA-LV124 / 148 - the most important things in brief

 

 

1)  With built-in PC and with touch display

Interfaces: 2xUSB, LAN, HDMI, WLAN, Bluetouth

This makes it possible for the first time to go directly from a power amplifier to the Internet and download the required test curves from the Rohrer HIDrive drive and load them directly into the power amplifier.

A suitable arbitrary curve generator (LAN) is part of the system.

 

 

2)  With this sense technique, the amplitude can be loaded even at high frequencies
     (e.g. 200kHz charged)  depending on the requirement either

1. at the amplifier output,

2. before the load disconnect relay,

3. at the amplifier output after the load cut-off relay, or

4. kept constant on the test specimen within the prescribed limits. This technique is stable even with inductive and capacitive loads.

Thus HERO®power gives the E-06, E48-05 (Superimposed AC Voltages) meaningful interpretation (200kHz 20VSS also loaded on the DUT for LV124 and / or 6VPP for LV148). This information is valid within the limits of the amplifier.

The linear controlled amplifier system for automotive testing according to LV124/148 and the associated standards sets new standards and offers decisive advantages.

Designed as linear controlled 4-quadrant amplifier for source / sink operation.

  • Selectable versions are:

Symmetrical (same stroke for positive and negative modulation)

Asymmetrical (negative stroke is only required for polarity tests) or

Unipolar e.g. for battery simulation (battery replacement or for charging / discharging the battery)

  • Surge tests of batteries  2000A/10ms
  • Several service areas: e.g. 2 power ranges are standard, which you can switch locally or remotely from LV124 to LV148
  • Control system: The measured variable can also be switched locally or remotely, from V-control to C-control, within msec by digital command.

Example: PA-LV124/148 … 4kVA

  • Version as asymmetrical linearly regulated 4-quadrant amplifier for source / sink operation. Asymmetric means that the two negative quadrants are present on the one hand in order to be able to perform the polarity reversal tests, on the other hand in order to reduce the losses / heat at e.g. to keep it as low as possible during discharge tests of batteries.
  • Discharge tests of current increases up to 2000A within a few msec can be carried out without problems.

 

Adaptation to the measuring task

  • The PA-LV124/148comes standard with 2 power ranges (input voltage) that can be switched locally or remotely from LV124 tests to LV148 tests.
  • Also local / remote switchable, even during operation, is the controlled variable.

Load terminals

  • Output 1: directly at the amplifier output. Internal resistance: 0.01 ohms = 10mOhm. The regulation refers to the output socket. Senselines are available.
  • Output 2: For this output, we configure the internal resistance as required. Senselines are available.
  • Output 3: with flexible load cable to the DUT (Device Under Test), with a typical length of 3-5m.
    This cable summarizes:
  1. the load lines
  2. the (sensor) control lines (senseline) to control the voltage at the DUT
  3. Test leads to control the voltage and signals on the DUT Output 3 is routed through a special one which is also used on the DUT connector. If necessary, an extension to the DUT can be made.

 

 

Impedance matching

The impedance of the output 2 can be adapted to the special requirements.

Control digital

HERO®power power amplifiers can be operated both locally and standalone, as well as remotely.

 

Control analog

  1. Local, without curve storage; The setpoint is entered using a function generator or a PC card via the high-impedance analog BNC input.
  2. Local with the levels stored in the waveform memory and adjusted to the HERO®power amplifier.
  3. Remote with read-in or remote-read curves.
  4. Function overlays, stochastic functions, algorithms

 

Stored curves are not suitable for such tests.

HERO®power offers different signal inputs for this, which add up but are not subject to any time dependency.

HERO®power amplifiers have 2 BNC analog inputs and a ±100% adjustable DC offset voltage. There are all sorts of options available - without having to write elaborate software programs that you would have to constantly change in the experimental stage (it then lacks the necessary degrees of freedom)
